About This Video
This video was created by our family in honor of Mikayla to spread awareness about the warning signs of suicide and the importance of reaching out for help. It has been shared in schools throughout our community to educate students and empower them to be there for one another.
Our Journey
Mikayla was 12 years old from Bishop California, she touched everyone's heart around her, with her laughter and beautiful smile. Nicknamed "Tiny dancer" always dancing around everywhere and "firecracker" for her sassy attitude & free spirit. She was creative and artistic. She loved singing, gymnastics, swimming, and playing the clarinet.
She was always the smallest and positioned usually as the flyer being a cheerleader for the Bishop Broncos youth football teams. She was fearless and loved to be in the air. However her small size got her picked on a lot at school, and for over 2 years she had been being bullied. Her mom went to the school office many times but nothing ever got changed that helped the situations.
Mikayla was beat up in the school hallway, she was provoked to get into fights while other kids took videos of it happening, and on the last day of school before Thanksgiving break a young boy told her to just go kill herself. 3 days later on November 25, 2025 Mikayla could not take it anymore and took her own life in her bedroom and was found by her parents the next morning.
